MUSIC MINISTRY
Leading the assembly in raising its heart to God through song, a variety of groups provide extraordinary music for all liturgical celebrations during the Church Year. Janet Sarsfield directs the musicians and singers for the Adult, Ensemble, Children's, and Teen Choirs. Singers attend weekly practices, and simple auditions are held for new singers in the Fall of each year and whenever necessary throughout the year.

• Adult Choir rehearsals have resumed. The Adult Choir sings at the 9:30 Mass every Sunday. Rehearsals are held every Monday evening from 7:30 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Those interested in joining the Choir for the first time are asked arrive at 7:10 for a simple audition. Potential new members are asked to contact Mrs. Sarsfield at 703-221-4745 or by e-mail at janets@stfrncis.org or jmily@comcast.net.

• The Teen/Young Adult Choir sings several times monthly during the school year (in conjunction with the Youth Ministry Schedule) at the 5:30 Mass on Sunday. They also sing for all combined Choir Celebrations during the year and at Christmas and Easter. Rehearsals are held every Monday evening from 6:00 until 7:00 PM. This group also rehearses at 4:30 before their scheduled Sunday night masses throughout the year and at the 3-4 Saturday morning Combined Choir rehearsals preceding Christmas and Easter. Singers from Grade 8 through College age who are interested in joining this group are asked to call Mrs. Sarsfield at 703-221-4745 or by e-mail at janets@stfrncis.org or jmily@comcast.net.

• Worship Ensemble rehearsals have resumed. The Worship Ensemble sings at the 12:00 Noon Mass every Sunday has resumed and will be held every Thursday evening from 7:30 until 9:00 P.M. The Ensemble also rehearses from 11:15 until 11:45 every Sunday before the Noon Mass. Potential new members are asked to arrive at 7:15 before the Thursday evening rehearsal for a simple audition. If you are interested in participating in this group, please call Mrs. Sarsfield as soon as possible.

• St. Francis Select Choir sings for the Friday Morning Children's Masses throughout the School year at 8:45 AM. Rehearsals are held throughout the School year on Thursdays from 3:00 - 4:00 PM. Call Mrs. Sarsfield at 703-221-4745 for further information.

• Parish Christmas Children’s Choir sings for the 3:30 Christmas Pageant - 4:00 PM Christmas Eve Mass and the 6:00 PM Christmas Eve Children's Mass. Rehearsals are held on Sunday afternoons from mid-November until the Sunday before Christmas from 3:00 until 4:30 PM. Children are asked to sign up for one of the 2 Christmas Children's Masses as well as The Christmas Festival of Praise Children's Choir.
