VIRGINIANS ORGANIZED FOR INTER-FAITH COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT (VOICE)
Virginians Organized for Inter-Faith Community Engagement (VOICE) is a broad-based, grass-roots multi-racial, multi-faith citizens power organization comprised of fifty faith communities in Northern Virginia. Political and business leaders often control the political agenda that determines the life of a community. VOICE is explicitly non-partisan and provides a forum for citizens to organize people and money around issues that are not often given a place at the table where decisions are made.
VOICE is currently organizing to address affordable housing, dental services for low-income adults and English as a Second Language Services for immigrants, as well as, to reduce the Federal backlog of citizenship applications for immigrants. Now is the time to create a space at the table for the average citizen and citizens group (parents, congregants, teachers, laborers, service providers, etc.). St. Francis of Assisi Parish has participated in this effort since its inception and is one of the founding member congregations.
