Centering Prayer
Contact: Parish Office (703.221.4044)
Contemplative prayer opens the heart and mind, our whole being, to God. It is a personal movement beyond conversation with Christ to communion with Him. Contemplative prayer in the centering method habituates us to the language of God, silence. Contemplative prayer is a process of interior purification leading, if we consent, to divine union.

Some specific volunteer opportunities are: food preparation and service at parish, holiday food baskets for the needy, support of the Women’s shelter, collection of funds to assist persons with intellectual disabilities, sale of fireworks, wheelchair ramps, family activities, youth activities, vocations, and support of many parish events. Secular Franciscans
Contact: Claire Hoagland (703.221.4044 or 703.878.4664)
The parish's Secular Franciscan community seeks men and women to pattern their lives after Christ in the spirit of St. Francis. We believe that as human beings and as Christians, we have such a sublime vocation that we cannot fulfill it alone. We subscribe to a common response to the Gospel, working together in community toward a deep evangelical life and toward communion with all people. The Secular Franciscans meet on the third Saturday of every month; we also retreat, work, and minister together -- praying, learning, sharing, and living the Gospels.
