Parishioners Serve Poor in Philadelphia

For the 15th consecutive year, a group of parishioners from St. Francis of Assisi parish traveled to St. Francis Inn in Philadelphia to serve the less fortunate. St. Francis Inn ministers to the poor and homeless in Philadelphia, PA, and is a ministry overseen by Holy Name Province.

On September 16th, a group of eight parishioners, joined by Friar Henry Fulmer, spent the week working side by side with the friars, the St. Francis Inn staff and the Franciscan Volunteer Ministry. They provided meals and services to the poor and the marginalized people of the Kensington neighborhood of northeast Philadelphia. The Inn is a special place where one finds “Love Served Every Day!”

Check out the St. Francis Inn website to see the wonderful work the Inn does in being Christ to others.

The next outreach trip will be September 11th to 15th, 2017. If you would like to participate, please contact John Habel (jxhabel@comcast.net) for more information.
