MARRIAGE
"For Catholics, the Sacrament of Marriage, or Holy Matrimony, is a public sign that one gives oneself totally to this other person. It is also a public statement about God: the loving union of husband and wife speaks of family values and also God's values" (American Catholic).
Marriage celebrates the love of a couple who enter into a covenant with God and one another. Couples planning to be married within a year's time should make arrangements with the parish office at least six months before the intended wedding. We cannot schedule a wedding date on the parish calendar until the couple has met with one of our priests. Call the parish office for more information and to make an appointment at 703-221-4044.
Married couples in the parish volunteer to assist with our Marriage Preparation Team by giving talks and sharing their experiences of married life. Our pre-marriage program provides an opportunity for couples to sharpen their skills in communication, organizing finances, planning family life, and understand the Church's teaching about Marriage as Sacrament.
For more information, please contact Mary Kay and Steve Jones at (540) 720-1331.
